Last night the Clarksville School Board approved the recommendation from our Licensed and Classified PPC groups to change the flex day on April 19th to April 8th.
This means the district will be closed on the day of the solar eclipse. You can find a copy of the updated school calendar on the webpage, Facebook, and Schoology.
Clarksville Intermediate School is selling t-shirts for $12. We will be placing the order on September 6th. Payment must be received with the order. Forms will be coming home this week. If you lose your form, you can just send the money and a note with the sizes.
Home football games start this week. If CIS students attend the game, they need to come with an adult. They must stay in the bleachers with that adult unless they are using the restroom on in line at the concession stand. Students are there to watch the game and support the team.

Families are encouraged to request “Rise and Shine” learning activity booklets – free summer learning booklets that extend learning beyond the broadcast. This year, Arkansas PBS is offering “Little Lessons” packets for preschool-aged children and a “Super-Duper Math Power Packet” for students in grades K-5. Packets are available in English and Spanish and can be downloaded or requested to be mailed directly to your child's home. The request form for printed packets shipped to the requestor can be found at https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=sK7r7zy4zkC426jSwmiVHPMOco1wYXRFj2R9Iwk8WsxUQThLWUREQ0RKTDVSNlBMVkVBQTZUNzBWTCQlQCN0PWcu . Downloadable PDFs can be found at myarpbs.org/riseandshine. Activity kits containing crayons, stencils, and more will be delivered alongside packets being mailed to homes as supplies last.
“Rise and Shine” is a summer learning series that consists of national PBS KIDS educational programming as well as 100 hours (about 4 days) of high-quality locally produced segments and resources available at no cost to families. The over-the-air broadcast of “Rise and Shine” will help fill the void for students who do not have internet access outside of school. In addition to the broadcast, all locally produced videos will also be available on demand on YouTube and through our website, and you can also watch through the Arkansas PBS app on various streaming platforms. More information can be found at myarpbs.org/riseandshine.
Students are required to have a Tdap immunization following their 11th birthday. This requirement is for all school districts. While planning for the Tdap, please ask about the MCV4. It must be administered by the 12th birthday. This can be given at the same time as the Tdap and will meet your student’s immunization requirement for school until their 16th birthday. Immunizations must be current prior to school starting.
Great news: The Johnson County Health Unit will be hosting an immunization clinic at the health department on July 14 from 8:00-3:30. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. Call 479-754-2949 to schedule your appointment.
Clarksville School District will be providing the initial supplies needed for this school year. All your child will need to bring is a backpack to start off the new year. They may also bring a water bottle with a lid if they would like one.
Mark your calendar! You don't want to miss these important dates at Clarksville Intermediate.
